How It Works

GrowDefender’s patented antimicrobial technology bonds to surfaces at the molecular level. Once applied, it creates a microscopic layer of positively charged spikes that rupture and deactivate harmful microbes on contact. Unlike traditional disinfectants that stop working once they dry, GrowDefender keeps working—long after application—by preventing microbial growth on treated surfaces for up to three months.

When to Use It

GrowDefender Antimicrobial is designed to help cultivation facilities prevent microbial contamination before it starts. Because many microbes—including mold and bacteria—travel through the air and on surfaces, it's critical to incorporate GrowDefender as part of your comprehensive IPM program across the entire facility, not just in isolated areas.

Use in following areas:

• Grow rooms and water systems: apply to surfaces, HVAC filters and water systems during every room changeover as part of your deep clean protocol to establish a long-lasting antimicrobial barrier before introducing new plants.
• Product contact rooms and common areas: treat surfaces and new HVAC filters every 90 days to maintain ongoing protections in areas where contamination can easily spread.
• New water lines, equipment and HVAC filters: always treat new materials and equipment before bringing them into your grow to prevent introducing hidden microbial threats.

WHEN NOT TO USE:

• Do not spray directly on plants
• It is not designed to clean residues and sticky substances off surfaces. It is designed to be applied to clean surfaces. Use the GrowDefender Cleaner to clean surfaces before using the Antimicrobial.

Surfaces and HVAC Filters

Before You Use

1. Mix 5.5:1 ratio with water.
2. Surfaces must be clean and free of foreign debris.
3. Surfaces must be dry.

How to Apply

1. Use an atomizer to lightly coat surfaces and filters with GrowDefender Antimicrobial.
2. Allow the Antimicrobial to dry for 20 minutes. Wipe dry any excess solution after 20 minutes.

Water Systems

‍

Before You Use

1. Water systems must be cleaned with an acid cleaner to remove existing biofilm.
2. Empty water tanks and water lines.

How to Apply

1. Use an atomizer with mixed concentrate to lightly coat internal surfaces of water tanks.
2. Allow Antimicrobial to dry for 20 minutes.
3. Fill water lines with Antimicrobial concentrate at a 5.5:1 ratio and hold the solution in the lines for 20 minutes.
4. Flush out the Antimicrobial and refill with fresh water.
